Anna's mother is Natalya Evgenyevna Pavlova, and her father is Anatoly Borisovich Pavlov. Both practiced gymnastics and are gymnastic coaches. First competition on the Russian National team was in the United States in January, 2000. A more serious start was shortly later at the 2000 European Championship in France, where Anna won two gold medals!
Not that long ago she injured her shin (Had to skip the 2007 World Championship. And at the 2008 European Championship it still bothered her). When she is at meets (which occurs often) she has three training sessions, with breakfast, lunch and dinner in between. As a result, Anna has very little free time.
